The cover of a custom printed video greeting card is the first thing recipients see. It sets the tone for the entire unboxing experience. Rophone offers a range of cover materials and finishing options to match every brand.
We print covers on 250gsm to 400gsm cardstock. The 250gsm option is lightweight and cost-effective for large direct mail campaigns. The 300gsm is our standard—sturdy enough to feel premium but thin enough to fold cleanly. The 400gsm option is for luxury gift boxes where the card itself is the gift.
After printing, covers are laminated for protection and texture. Matte lamination gives a soft, non-reflective finish. Gloss lamination makes colors pop and is easy to wipe clean. Soft-touch lamination feels velvety and is our most premium option. Anti-scratch lamination is available for bulk shipping.
Foil stamping adds a metallic sheen to logos and titles. We offer gold, silver, copper and holographic foil. The foil is applied under heat and pressure, creating a raised reflective surface. Foil pairs beautifully with black or navy covers. See the full electronic greeting card range for cover samples.
Embossing raises artwork above the card surface, while debossing presses it inward. Both create a tactile texture recipients feel immediately. Blind embossing without ink is subtle and premium. Combined with foil stamping, embossing creates a double-texture effect luxury brands love.
Spot UV coats selected areas with a glossy clear varnish while the rest stays matte. The contrast between glossy and matte draws the eye to your logo. It works especially well on dark covers. Rophone recommends spot UV on the brand mark and key headline.
