How Custom Printed Video Greeting Cards Are Made Inside Rophone Factory

A custom printed video greeting card looks simple from the outside—a folded card with a screen. But inside, it combines offset printing, LCD assembly, battery integration and video loading into one thin package. Rophone manufactures these cards at our 2,000-square-meter Dongguan facility. This guide walks through every production step.

1. Custom Printed Video Greeting Card: Cover Printing

The process starts with cover printing. Rophone uses offset lithography for orders over 1,000 units, printing on 300gsm matte cardstock. Our Heidelberg presses deliver Pantone color matching within Delta E 2. After printing, covers go through lamination—matte, gloss or soft-touch—followed by optional foil stamping and embossing. The cover is then die-cut to the exact card size.

2. Screen Greeting Card Custom Printed: LCD Module Assembly

Meanwhile, the LCD module line assembles the screen, PCBA board, battery and speaker. Each module is tested for brightness, color uniformity and touch sensitivity before insertion. The Hall sensor that triggers auto-play when the card opens is soldered and tested at this stage. Our factory runs two LCD assembly lines producing up to 5,000 modules per day.

3. Personalized Screen Greeting Card: Card Folding and Gluing

Printed covers arrive at the folding line, where workers mount the LCD module into the pre-cut screen window. The card is folded and glued by hand for precision. The mini-USB port is cut out on the spine side. This step requires careful alignment—the screen must sit perfectly centered in its window without gaps. 4. Video Loading and 100% Playback Testing

Once cards are assembled, our video team loads each client's MP4 file via USB. After loading, every single card goes through 100% playback testing: open the lid, confirm video plays, check audio volume, close the lid to confirm it stops. Any defective unit is pulled for rework. This is where our 99.2% quality rate is earned.

5. Custom Printed Video Greeting Card: Packaging and Shipping

Passed cards are individually packed in poly bags to prevent scratches. They are then packed into export cartons with foam padding. We ship via DHL, FedEx or sea freight depending on volume. All batteries are UN38.3 certified for air transport. Cartons are labeled with batch numbers for full traceability.
