How to make a folded origami gift box

3. Paper origami box method/step

In order to make your Paper origami box, you will need two pieces of graph paper. I prefer to use scrapbook paper in this project because it is slightly thicker and gives you a stronger box. The result of using 12-inch x 12-inch scrapbook paper is a 4 1/4-inch x 4 1/4-inch box. You can choose the paper that matches the base and cover, or choose two slightly different patterns to increase the contrast of the project.

To start the Paper origami box, fold the paper horizontally in half. Unfold, then fold in half vertically. Expand to show the cross crease pattern. Fold each corner to the middle until your paper looks like the photo on the left side of the photo.

As shown in the figure, fold the top and bottom of the paper to the center of the paper. Unfold.

Fold the left and right sides to the center of the paper.

Open the two diagonal corners and fold the other two corners together. Rub the corner with your index finger and pull the third edge upward. Fold the top flap to form one side of the box. Repeat on the other side to complete the box.

If you plan to use Paper origami box to give a heavy gift, please use glue stick or double-sided tape to fix the flaps to increase the strength.
